Center for Power Electronics
At the forefront of tomorrow’s technologies

Content

We are permanently at the cutting edge of scientific knowledge. One way we stay there is with the Robert Bosch Center for Power Electronics (RBZ). This collaboration with Reutlingen University of Applied Sciences and the University of Stuttgart is unique in Germany. We invest in research and teaching in forward-looking fields. And we offer students and graduates the chance to develop the technologies of the future with us.

At the RBZ, we work on innovative components and systems with applications including hybrid and electric vehicles as well as photovoltaic systems.

Cooperation with universities

The RBZ has expanded the curricula at Reutlingen University of Applied Sciences and the University of Stuttgart by adding bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in power electronics and microelectronics. Students gain practical opportunities as well, such as researching the technologies of the future at the testing center. They also have access to our semiconductor manufacturing facility in Reutlingen for hands-on practice.

The RBZ has a total of seven professorial chairs, five of which were established in 2009 with our support. Bosch funding for the RBZ totals approximately €15 million.
