Ice-free streets in the winter can now be achieved quickly and precisely. Our subsidiary Bosch Rexroth has engineered an electronic system that gets rid of ice by making sure exactly the right amount of salt is used and not a grain more. That doesn’t just save material and expense; it also goes easy on the environment.
The Compu-Spread system is based on high-performance electronics and hydraulics. Sensors register such parameters as the characteristics and temperature of the road surface. Compu-Spread then calculates the ideal amount of salt required to remove the ice and ensures it is spread exactly where it’s needed. The system also manages many other functions of snow removal vehicles, such as hydraulically controlling the heavy plow so its full weight is not on the street, thus reducing wear and tear on the pavement.
